Scholarship Details
Administered by a Federal Government agency, the PTDF Scholarship aims to develop local human capacity and technology to meet the demands of the oil and gas sector. It offers opportunities for students to study at top institutions worldwide.
Application Requirements
For Postgraduate Applicants:
- Full-time admission letter from a Nigerian Federal University
- At least a Second-Class Lower (2.2) in a related field
- Minimum of merit in a second-degree certificate in an oil and gas discipline
- 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO, including English and Mathematics (maximum 2 sittings)
- NYSC certificate or exemption letter
- Certificate of indigeneship
- Personal statement (minimum 1000 words for Master's applicants)
- PhD proposal (max 6 pages relevant to the oil and gas industry)
For Undergraduate Applicants:
- Full-time student status at a Nigerian Federal University
- Currently in 200 level
- Course related to oil and gas industry
- 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO, including English and Mathematics
- Valid university admission letter
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale or equivalent
- First-year transcripts signed and stamped by authorized university personnel

Scholarship Duration and Benefits
- Undergraduate: N500,000/year plus a laptop (N625,000 in the first year)
- Postgraduate: N700,000/year plus a laptop

- Statement of WAEC/SSCE/NECO results with at least 5 credits
- University admission letter
- First-year academic transcript(s)
- Certificate of indigeneship
- Personal statement (at least 300 words for undergraduates)
